TGIFF linky is OPEN

Thank Goodness it's FINISHED Friday!

Thank you for stopping by today - I hope you have a finish to link up at the bottom of this post!  I have a finish to share with you today - yay!

Many of you know that a year ago or so I had no idea how to do foundation piecing.  I will admit that I even cried in a paper piecing class and ended up going away quite discouraged.  But, I am a stubborn ol' thing so I persevered and now I LOVE paper piecing!

Kristy of Quiet Play creates wonderful patterns and I am lucky to be able to test a few for her.  Her latest pattern is a crow and here is my version of it:

Sorry for the blurry picture - I tried to jazz it up with the grunge border to disguise the fact it is all fuzzy (I am having to use my phone to take pictures as my camera broke yesterday which was really rotten timing).  But, you must laugh at these trivialities, and laugh often right?

I love adding tabs to the sides of the cushions I make!  Laugh often seems appropriate on a cushion of a crow, don't you think??  I LOVE birds and even love the highly intelligent but super noisy crow who wakes me up each morning at daft o'clock!  For the back, I decided to tone it down a bit by using Kona Steel on and include a hidden zip.

And look -- it even sort of co-ordinates with the fold over flap cushion I recently made.  Now it is you turn!  Link up your recent finishes.  Thanks for stopping by and thank you for letting me host TGIFF!

This is a beautifully pieced cushion Amy! Love the colours too. I wish I had something finished to link up but then I would have to actually finish something wouldn't I?

Love the crow! My finish this week was a pouch for the Sweet Pouch Hop, but it has to remain a secret until my partner receives it! It is my first swap, so I am keeping my fingers crossed she likes it!

"Laugh Often" is perfect for a crow pillow. :D He's so cool - I like crows a lot, actually.

Your bird is great, I love the green and black contrast. And you're right about the side tab- it's a wonderful addition. I especially like that it has a more interesting message than "wash by hand in cold water" or something!

I'm an avid bird watcher, and have to admit, I'm not too keen on crows, but this is a really cute pillow.

Wow that's awesome. Having done my first FPP last night, I have a new admiration for finishing something. Two hours for the letter "I". Aggghhhh. I hope it gets faster - I'd love to do some birds :-)

What a great cushion! I hope you can get your camera fixed! I thought I'd broken mine a little while ago (my daughter had changed a dial I didn't know about). I was so worried thinking I wouldn't be able to replace it eeek!

Love, love the crow! My mom joins a group of other ladies for lunch once a month and they call themselves "The Old Crows." They would love this!

Beautiful crow pillow! Love the "Laugh Often" tag too! I love the color combinations that you used too! Happy to hear you accomplished paper piecing!I have several crows who have been visiting my bird feeder this summer. They most often feed from the ground as they often can't balance themselves on the feeder because of their big size.
